Goiter is a swelling of thyroid gland in upper neck that seems like a couple of reverse pouch connected with a narrow bridge in front of Adam’s apple. Thyroid has complex function, such setting burning level of the body. Just like all endocrine glands, thyroid gland also works together with other glands, then there may be vary disturbance of its function will affect. For example, if this gland is active, heart rate will be faster and the sufferer will have short–winded, restless, and angry easily. Appetite increases because sufferer always feels hungry, but her weight always decreases, so she became thinner. Also, menstruation disturbance and difficulty to be pregnant (most goiter sufferer of thyroid is women).

Disease from too active thyroid gland is known as thyrotoxicosis or some time as “Graves” disease (Graves is a doctor from Ireland who could explain goiter disease at the first time). Less active thyroid gland affects the sufferer to be fat and slow. She will always feel cold, eat a little, but her body is still bigger. Her hair is thinner and rough; dry skin, swollen face, and hoarse and deep sound. This condition is called by mixedemia.

When baby born with less active thyroid gland, she will have a mental defect and slow movement. This condition is known as cretinism. Administer hormones she needs for along her rest of life will help. However, the existence of goiter does not always mean that there is a disease inside thyroid gland. Many factors causing a goiter and gives no symptoms at all. For example is physiologic goiter. This type of goiter often happens to teenagers and sometimes to pregnant or menopause women. There is no problems following this goiter, except become bigger. Nevertheless, in few countries, goiter was assumed as beauty sign of a woman. Most pictures or paintings of women in Renaissance age have a big neck because of goiter, which they thought it increased the beauty of woman.

There is a disease typed-goiter that often both man and woman suffer from. Its shape is not like common goiter and caused by lack of iodine. Iodine is an important substance in gland function and as a main element of thyroxin. When someone lack of iodine, her gland will be bigger and then try to balance and produce more hormones. Finally, the gland will swell and push pharynx, so the sufferer will take a breath hardly. If the swelling in both sides are not balance, her head will slope. This type of goiter often found in places where the water contents lack iodine, such a place far away from beach, like mountain area.

Recently, most countries in the world mix iodine in salt, then this type of goiter is less and less. So, the only type of goiter affects sufferer become thinner is which caused by too active thyroid gland, called toxic goiter. Sometimes, medicine can cure this goiter, like tiourasil or imidasol or kalium perclorate or may also administer of isotope radioactive iodine (I131).

Those medicines have effect destroying excessive tissues. However, the most effective curing is surgery (lift only a part of goiter, because it may cause mixdemia). There are also another type of goiter need no cure at all as long as it is not bigger and bigger; and not disturb.

Rheumatic frequently happens to the areas of joint, muscle and bone, including other body tissues. It is divided into two types of illness; pain in knee and pelvis joint and pain in all joint. The former type is called as osteoarthritis and the latter type is called as rheumatoid arthritis. Both of them are affected by two factors; internal and external factors. Everybody can get those illnesses, but there is no medicine for recovery until now. Available medicine just reduces or minimize feel of pain and anti inflammation.

Internal factor indicates that there is hoarding of lactic acid. This acid should be returned to liver and changed to become glucose as previous, but most of acid get sediment along muscles. In certain amount, muscles become exhausted and then hard to do contraction. The muscles also have less extra energy, but the other energy mostly contain sticky results of remains, so the one feels exhaustion in large muscles of hand, back, scapula, waist or foot quickly.

Sedimentation and disturbance in calf makes the one tired quickly especially at the time of standing or walking. It can also disturb blood circulation and solution in knee joint, so inflammation happens to knee and affects inflammation of phlegm pocket, bursae, called as bursitis. In this case, production of phlegm becomes excessive and gets clot in knee. Bursitis can disturb function of joint as long as it really interacts with joint. Inflammation often happens to joint of shoulders because this part is very active in use.

Sore knee is also caused by a type of uric acid or other sedimentation left in knee. The amount of uric acid is excessive as a result of purin metabolism. This acid should be disposed through urine, but because there is disturbance in joint or kidney defect, this acid is accumulated in joint. In young bone, this acid can interact with bone formation ions, so new sedimentation accumulates out of joint and becomes crystal. This crystal handicaps joint movement and causes pain.

Pain in all joint starts with a little swelling or light pain, usually in hand fingers, wrist or foot. Joint in each side of body often gets pain in the same time and feels hot or look reddish, even contains liquid. It also affect muscles cramped or diluted and pulls joint to become shrunk.

The external factors are microbes causing tuberculosis, inflammation of lungs and streptococcus of throat or serious infection. In addition, there are the stimulant of plant and animal development, consumption of too much medicine or excessive works. They also cause rheumatic directly or indirectly. So, people should avoid these causes from their body parts or life style.

According to pennasia , rheumatic can happen due to some causes, such as undissolved sedimentation, disturbed blood flow, abnormal nerve and disordered structure of disturbed part. With the normalization therapy, it can heal and won’t get a relapse.

For prevention, the one should avoid over work, overweight, over sick defensive, uncontrolled herbs or medicine use, careless massage- have enough mineral for muscles and bones- make foot relaxed after exercise- not take a bath at night. However, rheumatic can relatively happen to anyone and anytime in general.
